Last month @ the Irish Road Rover 5k Steven Dubois of Lisbon, Maine came in before Patrick Beaulieu
Steven told us on fb “I ran in the Raccoon Run 5K around Portland’s Back Cove trail. Beautiful weather for a race. Warm enough without being too warm. I thought maybe the wind coming off the water would cause issues speed wise, but it really wasn’t a factor. I hope that’s the case next weekend at Race The Runways in Brunswick. Really happy with how I ran today. A couple of confusing parts on the course as cones were set up marking the course for the Portland 10-Miler that was happening after this race. The cones were actually blocking part of our course near the finish. Anyway, I finished in 21:22, my fastest time ever in a Back Cove race by over half a minute. Could have knocked a few seconds of off that if I didn’t have to work my way around all the cones. It definitely disrupted my finish sprint. This was good for 3rd overall out of 63 runners, taking 1st place in my age group. I won a pint glass and a nickel.”
