I remember running the MTC handicap 10K race on December 6, 1980 at Gorham High School. At the time I was seeded at 34:00. I ended up in a dead sprint at the finish with none other than Andy Palmer who was almost national class at that time. I think I was given a 4 minute lead on him and I finished the cold hilly race in 34:11 that day. I was just out of high school. Andy must have run 30:11 or faster that day.
