“Billy” Martin, Chevrus High….I was “chasing” Sammy Burgess @ State X-C, Orono, Maine, November, 1961 & dualing w/ John Parola, Thoronton Acad. for 2nd, when out of the corner of my eye, Martin was FLYING for BOTH of us….have a picture taken @ the line w/ the THREE of us almost even; I got there 1st, BUT, Billy over-took Parola & kept him at 4th place for his sophomore, junior & senior year….often wonder what became of YESTERDAY’S athletes; in this case I wish i did not know
