WOW!!!!! What a morning!!! What a race!!!
We’ll talk more about it Wednesday at 6 p.m. It should be another great day. Mixers is the place to be.
A bit of a recap from today’s race: The weather was a bit muggy, but not too bad. The field size was good, nearly 300 finishers. There was plenty of pizza and water. Mike Dozios, the announcer, did a great job for us. A couple medical issues, both coming out OK.
So, as the Bridge Run was the final race of the Triple Crown, we had race awards and then overall total time awards. I don’t have all the overall awards/names, but today’s race saw many in itself. Congrats to Kyle Miller (2nd overall, 1st AG, and first medical patient), Kyle Simmons (6th overall, 1 AG), Brayden Beattie (10th oveall, 1 AG), Rick Blanchette (1 AG), Steven Dubois (1AG), Amy B. Arata (1AG), Tom Menendez (1AG), Denis Dubois (2 AG), Sue LaBrecque Dubois (2 AG), and Sabattus resident Mike Pelletier (2 AG).
There were other runners today, and many of them helped make the Sabattus team the largest team……….. AGAIN. That’s a sweep of all three races for the Sabattus runners! The list includes TJ Niles, Kevin Mitchell, Bryce Beattie, Mike Arata, Lily Vincent, Kimberly Buskirk, Marc Lepage, Shane Dayna Colello, David Colby Young, Min Rodrigue, Randall John Smith, Samantha Cougot, Danielle Dyer, and me.
My goal today was to finish, no matter my pace. I did it. But, along the route, I ran with and talked to many running friends. I have no doubts in my mind that Danielle Dyer has a great mental attitude about running. She was talking to people on the sidelines, people in the race, laughing, and then she told me she ran 3 miles yesterday. That’s normally a no-no for a lot of runners, the day before a race. Maybe she is not your normal runner, but I’ll tell you what – she has made running a new lifestyle for herself, and she has some of her own goals she will no doubt attain. I was able to pull ahead of her

This was not a race. But they were telling Allyn to stay in his own lane.
