Bob Hillgrove stated on fb: Stated ” May 3, 1960 (Freshman)-dual meet w/ Brewer High (GRASS track @ Rockland)….running barefoot DID-NOT help me at all–stayed EVEN thru the 1st 880 against schoolboy mile record holder, Dave Farley & brother, Dick Farley, along w/ Rockland team-mate, Alan Post, timed in 2:35+……DAVE ran the 2nd 880 in 2:05 & it was OVER…..brother, Dick Farley finished in 4:58, Post in 5:05….myself held up the END in 5:21…..sometimes i wonder if the “look-back” is all that fun !!——–“color” on the scrapbook(s) seem to be fading fast”
