…..in 1961, Bruno Mazzeo told me that he competed against John A. Kelley @ O.O.B. in a 12-miler around 1940 & was defeated close to a minute…..if that be the case, below photo of John J. Kelley, Amby Burfoot & John A. Kelley, ALL of them RACED in Maine @ one time……John J. @ North Windham, ME., winning a 5-miler 7-18-1953; Amby @ Camden, ME., winning a 10km 7-8-1979 ……pictured ALL three winning BOSTON & BOTH Kelley’s Olympians…..in 1968 Amby Burfoot would miss AR for marathon by TENTH of second (+-) held by Buddy Edelen….
