12 Sept 2020 ~ Mahoosuc Ridge to The River Challenge
12 Sept 2020 Run Virtual Lake Auburn
Dear Runners, Volunteers and Sponsors,
It is with deep regret that we are announcing that due to some last minute changes in State guidelines, we are canceling our 9th annual LAHM and 5k event scheduled for this weekend, September 12th and 13th. It was the goal of our committee to be able to bring this “live” event to our community in these unprecedented times. We had acquired all the correct permits, received permission and support from the city and first responders, meeting with our local officials to present a safe event following all the CDC

The New England Challenge 2020: Maine. Half Marathon #111 DONE!

Pine Tree Marathon – Half & Full 2020
The New England Challenge 2020: Maine.
Half Marathon #111 DONE!
Picture perfect Maine morning for this race at my familiar stomping grounds; the Back Cove in Portland. Found Tracey (Jersey Girl) who I had met at the Louisiana Marathon earlier this year in Baton Rouge.
A big shout out to Allyn Genest for coming to the event at 6AM yesterday to take pictures and provide amazing all around support.
Many thanks to Jc Santa Teresa for getting this event to take place in these interesting times !
And lastly, I was able to demonstrate my green off grid clock, while still in beta testing it was well received and played well, for me it was like a typical Amateur Radio Emergency preparedness event but powered a clock instead of radio equipment.

We raced today!!!!!!!! A few of us went up to Waterville for the Doc and Mardie Brown (uphill) 5K this morning. Most of us were in Wave 2, after TJ Niles scouted the course for us in Wave 1. For not racing in forever, we did very well, despite the steep uphill climb at the .25 mile mark. It was really nice to see running friends who we haven’t seen all spring/summer, just about. Laurie Nicholas and Mike Nixon, Rebecca Tracy, and Mike Brooks (thanks for volunteering, Mike!) made the trip.
It wasn’t a huge field of runners, but it was a road race and it was actually timed.
I think we were all pretty happy with our results, considering we didn’t have much to compare them to this year. I’m not sure, and neither is he, but Rick Blanchette may have had a PR (22:09)!!! But, I do know Cathy Levesque also turned in a really good performance (28:10!!), even with that big hill. And a thank you to Laurie N. for pushing me throughout the race. I was able to finish pretty strong knowing she was right behind me – I can’t let the kids beat me! It was fun to race with buddies!!!
