ELHS 50 Years after 1973
Many visits to Auburn with my grandparents as a child as it was my grandfather’s home town. It was in Farmington, Maine my place of birth where I 1st remember meeting the girl who became my wife a little over 3 years later.

Blue Blazes Cross Country ~ Reported on fb
This past Friday (8 Sept) the Blue Blazes competed in their second meet of the season at Bonny Eagle. After a T-Storm delay, both boys and girls compete in the same race. The boys placed 3rd and girls did not represent a full team for the meet. All but one Blazes ran personal best times for this meet.
Though Carlos Torres did not run a personal best, but he led the team being the first boy team member across the line with a time of 18:41 which was just a few seconds from his personal best time. Megan Garber led the girls team placing 7th overall in the girls race and a personal best time of 21:49.
Other highlights of the meet were:
Riley Davis(22nd place) dipped under 20mins for the first time in his only second 5k ever. Followed closely by Ryan Howard(23rd place)with a time of 20:09 and Ezra Burke (24th place) in 20:10 which was a min and 10 second improvement is his only second 5k ever. Landen Cole placed 28th with a personal best time of 20:38. Will Kossof, Jack Landry, and Jackson Martin Levy rounded out the boy blazes with all personal best times or season best times.
In the girls race, Josie Chirstensen ran a personal best time of 27:09 knocking a minute off her time from last week in her only second 5k ever. Violet Chase rounded out the Girl Blazes with a time of 30:46 in her first 5k.
Next week the the Blue Blazes will continue their season at the Southern Maine Invitational in Gorham on Saturday! (That meet will be moved to Monday by LEE)
