5th Annual Turkey Trot in Bath, Maine
* 8:30 a.m.
* Sponsored by InspireME Personal Fitness Training. A 3 mile fun run/walk to benefit Bath Soup Kitchen. Registration is a cash donation on the day of the event at 30 Front Street, Bath. Parking available at 15 Vine Street. FMI Sarah at 841-5159 or perian@inspiremept.com
We have been told that in the past this event has not been timed. Our understanding is that volunteers from the local high school will be present to do some timing of the event. If a record of the results is made Maine Running Photos will request a copy and publish it here. All and all, this event is NOT about winning ribbons or awards, It is about giving to others and having run with fellow runners & walkers
It sounds like a great group run with lots of great food.
InspireME’s
2007 Turkey Trot
On Thanksgiving, Thursday November 27th, 2008, InspireME Personal Fitness Training will be hosting its 5th Turkey Trot. The trot consists of a 3-mile course through Bath which individuals can run or walk. It starts at 8:30 in the morning. There is no formal registration. Registration will take place the morning of the event at 30 Front Street and we are requiring a $5.00 cash or check donation and/or non-perishable food contribution for the Bath Soup Kitchen. A t-shirt will be given to the first 120 participants to donate $20.00 or more. To start the trot on time we ask trotters to show up between 7:00-8:15 for registration. This is a great way to burn off some of those extra calories and support a group of people who struggle for their next meal.
Last year InspireME raised $1000.00 and numerous bags of food. It is our goal to raise $1500.00 this year to help the staff buy fresh greens, vegetables, and fruit for their guest which we all need. Our second goal is to double the number of participants. We invite you to play with us.
In 2005, our walkers/runners had a festive morning as the heavens delivered snowflakes for the occasion. Last year the sun was shining and the weather was warm. The trot is a fun activity to start the holiday season.
The trot is a good way to promote a healthy activity for the holiday. All are encouraged to come walk or run and don’t forget to bring your families. Make the InspireME Turkey Trot a fun family activity tradition.
