Edward Little Coach Rick Smith states on February 29 at 7:20 PM ·
“Congrats to Olivia Jalbert, Julia Berube, and Jake Jackson for their performances at the New England High School Track meet today. Although they might not have gotten the results they wanted, it was awesome to see them perform against the best in New England.
As we were leaving the boys 2 mile was finishing. The winning time was 8:53. Folks that back to back 4:27 miles. It was the fastest 2 mile time run in the US this year by s high school student.
Impressive.”

    Reports

Exit polling results (unofficial results) from today's inaugural Cabin Fever 15K in Freeport: Todd Michaud entered the race at the last minute as a write-in competitor, and Stacy Adams and I did our fair share of running for office. Todd led the way for us (no surprise there, as he was the early favorite), but try as he might, his grass-roots campaign couldn't catch the voters' favorite in front of him. Todd got nipped by 12 seconds in his Age Group Party. Stacy and I both predicted we'd take about 1:15:00 worth of delegates' time to get our message across the finish line. I underestimated my popularity with the senior citizens' votes, and got in in 1:12:37, good for 1st AG in my new division. I used the AARP walkers' discount on three of the hills. Stacy (running on the Beastess Party ticket) made every promise count, running a tough race the entire campaign trail. It paid off, as she, too, was under her goal, gathering about 1:13:30 worth of votes. Todd was super nice and met each of us near the end to run us in. He probably knocked off about 6-8 seconds off my time by pushing me just that little bit. Then he went back out to run Stacy in! I'm glad he showed up, but I'm also glad to know him as a friend. Thank you very much, Todd!
