OK, we’re going to try again this Wednesday. It looks like it’ll be OK. 6 p.m.
There was a great turnout today at the Tri-Town Family 5K in Minot. A LOT of running friends were there. Winners included Kyle Simmons (overall), and Age Group winners Steven Dubois, Sue LaBrecque Dubois, Christopher Sabo, and Will Sproul. Some others won raffle prizes, too, including Zef Segal, who won a hat but almost ruined his phone in getting it. And we met Yael Segal!!!!, so that was very nice, too. Others who braved the elements included Kelly Franklin, Danielle Dyer, Kevin Mitchell, Denis Dubois, Maureen Mennealy (and me), Shawn Vincent (Thank you very much, Shawn!), Lily Vincent, Andrea Vincent, Beth Asselin, Kimberly Buskirk, and the entire Greater Poland Running Group.
Some of our buddies went down to Boston today and ran in the BAA Half Marathon, the final event of the 3-race Medley Series. Congrats for fine efforts to Christie Tebbets (1st in her AG today), Laurie Nicholas (1st overall for the three races in her AG), Kelly Ann Harmon, and Rick Blanchette.
And In Portland, Darren Winchenbach took home first overall in the Kick Out Mesothelioma 5-Miler.
Next weekend starts the turkey trots, with the Turkey Trot Tune-up 5K on Sunday in Portland. If you have other animals in mind, there is a Cani-Cross 5K in Oxford on Sunday.
Taking a second to wish Gena Bosshart a happy birthday a day early. We miss you, Gena, and we hope you are well!!!!
We didn’t have ideal weather this morning in Minot. We can’t pick the weather. Heck, I even saw Steven Dubois shivering today!!! There are many things to be said for people who go out and run in bad weather, and a couple of them can even be printed here. We enjoy seeing our buddies. We want to keep to a schedule. We’re afraid to break a streak, etc., etc., etc. There are other things to be said, too, of course. Run happy. Run dry. Run regardless.
“People who run outdoors on freezing days must have some irritating families at home.”
