On June 29 Chris Almy, 70 of Charleston, ran in the 44th annual Tour Du Lac 10 Miler in Bucksport. Almy ran the course in a time of 1 hour, 28 minutes and 26 seconds to place 37th among a field of 72 entrants.
On July 4 three area residents took part in the 39th annual Walter Hunt Memorial 4th of July 3K from Brewer to Bangor. Michael Deresplano, 15 of Charleston, ran a time of 13:13 to place 86th among a field of 384. Almy was 116th at 13:39 and placing 325th was Sheshan Wagner, 21 of Exeter, at 21:47.
