Report from Darren Winchenbach: “Such a great race today. So much positivity to share. To quote Vanessa Williams- “Go and save the best for last.” And we did. Congratulations toAlicia Costa for winning the ugliest sweater contest. Congrats to Patti Leachfor coming in 3rd for the women and setting a pr for a 4 miler. As for myself I pulled a John Elway (minus the horse face of course) and ended my season on the highest note possible. 1st place overall with a new pr of 26:32. Started out running in 5th place at a casual pace for the first 1.5 miles before turning on the jets and passing all competitors in the 2nd half to power my way to victory. This same strategy worked for Rasheed Wallace when he played in the NBA. Go at half speed in the beginning flip the power switch on in the 2nd half and save all the energy for the end. He did it and won a championship. I did it and got my 1st win in a 4 miler. Finally, thank you to all the volunteers and spectators for the help and support throughout the entire race”
