Words from the Race Director to the Volunteers & Runners
Good Morning Everyone!
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who showed up to run, cheer, or volunteer yesterday, it’s deeply appreciated especially given the less than ideal weather!
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Maine Track Club, Wolfe’s Neck Center, Brunswick Topsham Land Trust, Maine Marathon, Senza Scarpe, the volunteers, and the runners!
Proceeds from the race will go towards supporting programs at Wolfe’s Neck Center and Brunswick Topsham Land Trust. Thank you for running long for local food.
Results are uploaded to UltraSignup and those can be viewed here: Results
Results were also uploaded to RunSignUp – some results are missing, some splits are missing, and there are some corrections to be made. Goal is to have that sorted this week. Those results are here: RSU Results (Relay teams will only be posted to RunSignUp).
For the 50mile race – Brian Axelrod won the men’s race and now holds the 2nd fastest time for the men’s race in 7:08:06. Casey Patrick Wertz won the non-binary division in 8:48:13 while Karen Deyesso came back for year 2, taking about 90s off last year’s time & winning the women’s race! This year’s 50mi race was the largest field in race history with 19 registered, 16 starting, and 11 finishing! It was a tough day out there and I’m so proud of everyone who gave it their all!
Exciting news in the 50k race! Sapan Bhatt came in blazing fast in 3:32:48 – not only did he win the men’s race, he took the men’s course record, AND the overall course record – beating Lila’s 2023 by about 6min. Daniel Barry & Amit Oza also achieved top 10 times! Kim Fischer took 1st place in the women’s 50k race and got to claim a pie. And shout out to Karen Smidt who joined us from Colorado for her 41st state in her quest for 50 states!
And the excitement keeps on coming! Addison Davis won the men’s race in 1:37:56 setting a NEW COURSE record! And Nedicus Swain, who took second, also has a Top 10 course time too! Amanda Bergstrom won the women’s 25k and her dog may have stolen the show in her pie photo hah!
I’ll be posting photos on RunSignUp here: https://runsignup.com/Race/Photos/ME/Freeport/FarmtoFarmUltra
Photos will also be posted to Facebook.
And many of you may have noticed a man with a fancy camera. That’s David Colby Young of Maine Running Photos. His photos are here Maine Running Photos – he did miss parts of the day but as he is a volunteer and giving runners higher quality photos than my cell phone photos, I think we can forgive him ? But if you’re able & willing, Maine Running Photos does take donations so they can continue to travel around the state to different running related events and provide free photos to everyone.
If you took any photos you’re willing to have posted in the albums, please send them over and I’ll save them under your name for credit. If you have photos you’d rather not be shared in an album like but you’re ok with me using them for social media, please send those over as well and just let me know! Just respond to this email.
Additionally, if you have any feedback to share to improve the race for next year, let me know! I jotted some notes down yesterday but welcome all feedback!
October is a bit short on weekends next year so I’m looking closely at the calendars to find our race date for 2026 – stay tuned, when it’s figured out, I’ll post to social media.
If you took photos of the event, please share and tag us on social media! We’re on Instagram at @farm2farmultra and use our hashtags: #FarmToFarm #FarmToFarmUltra
We can’t wait to see you again next year!
