Jane Quilty Obituary
Saco – Jane Quilty, 64, of Wedgewood Drive passed away Wednesday January 22, 2025 at her residence.

She was born in Ottawa, Canada on April 19, 1960 the daughter of John Francis and Sheila Hogan Quilty.

With a love for animals, she received her Animal Care Technology degree from St. Lawrence College in Ottawa. After moving to Maine in 1988 she began working at Edgewood Animal Hospital in Gorham as a veterinary technician. She became an integral and loved part of the Edgewood family where she continued to work for the next 36 years.

Jane was a much loved member of the Fleet Feet running group and Maine Track Club. You may have seen her volunteering and cheering on other runners if she wasn’t running herself, exhibiting her supportive nature for friends and strangers alike. Her running friends had the pleasure of sharing many miles with Jane, sometimes laughing and chatting, other times enjoying the quiet comfort of running through the world next to a friend. Jane’s sense of humor brightened even the darkest and coldest night run; she had a definite glimmer in her eye and knack for delivering a quip with expert comedic timing. In the past several years, she set running challenges for herself that brought her to the top of Mount Washington (her least favorite, but one she conquered), to the Downeast Sunrise Trail and the Pineland Trail Festival (running and singing and maybe getting lost at night), to Millinocket (where she didn’t freeze) and to so many other amazing places. Her running family is better for having known her, and were recently able to applaud her age group win in the MTC Grand Prix. Jane was famous in her running circle for her love of a good jacket (and swag) and she wore her Grand Prix jacket with pride. She ran so many miles and touched many lives in the best of ways. Jane will be missed very much and remembered always.

Survivors include daughter Francie and her husband Tom Foley of Gorham, son Josh Aiden Foehrenbach of Oklahoma, sister Ann Dufour of Ottawa, brother Peter (Linda) Quilty of Alberta, brother Michael Quilty of Ontario, as well as nieces Jennifer and Ashley, and nephews Douglas, Mathew, and Christopher.

Visiting hours will be held at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco on Saturday, February 1st from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers please hug your loved ones.
