    Maine Track Club Members

I hope you all are staying fit and well during the off season. You continue to set goals, train, and stay injury free. We just had the annual MTC dinner celebrating its 30th anniversary. After awards were given for most improved runners, first time marathoners, and other accomplishments. Out of the 70-80 individuals we have had participate in our Auburn Track workouts, only about 6 of us were present. I also know that many of you accomplished some great things this year. This made me think of you all and to send you a reminder to keep working this off -season. Please request a flier of our on site services if any of you would like help in setting new goals, taking care of acute or old injuries, a conditioning, training, and or nutritional program . For those of you who also train with heart rate monitors this would be a great to have your lactate levels done and validate your heart rate training levels.
Continue to be well, eat healthy, and stay moving. See you all soon.

Jo Dill is the new Maine Senior Games Coordinator

Filed under: Photos — David Colby Young @ 6:31 am

The Healthy Aging Program is very pleased to announce that, effective today, the new Maine Senior Games Coordinator is Jo Dill. Jo is a retired Health and Physical Education teacher in the Kennebunk area school district. She is currently the Executive Director of the Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance – a position she has held for 12 years and will continue to hold while she works 20 hours per week for the MSG.  Some of you know Jo from the MSG Women’s Basketball tournament, where she plays on the Maine Pioneers 60+ team. She also coordinates the Corner Cupboard Non-Food Pantry in Sanford, and serves on the board of various organizations including Unlimited Vision Montessori School, and the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Sports, Health and Wellness.

Jo lives in Lyman, ME. Her office telephone: 207-396-6519. Her email: jdill@smaaa.org.

I am sure all of you wish Anita Chandler the best of times in her retirement and I am sure all of you will enjoy working with Jo. We will soon have Jo’s office  telephone linked to her cell phone  and I March she will have the capability to send and receive email messages from a portable device.

Also new this year will be the registration for the MSG and the reporting of results. The National Senior Games has a web based registration 207system which is now ready for the rest of us to use. Jo and other staff will learn how to use it later this month and then make it available to everyone.

The Old AOL Maine Running Photos Journal

Filed under: Photos — David Colby Young @ 8:09 am

    Dear Friends & Fellow Runners!

We have moved over 75,000 photos from the old AOL Maine Running Photos before the doors closed on 31 Dec 2008. Now not all the photos I take are running related but a great number are. We continued to move photos 7 days after the closing date but now the doors are completely closed. We will check the block transfer to “Photo Works” incomplete as it is, still it way contain some of the photo collections we either missed or did not have time to transfer.

Below are the collections we are making public and will try to make more public as we have time.
