Safe Ways to Exercise and Stay Connected During COVID-19
COVID-19 is changing so many things in our daily lives, but it doesn’t have to interfere with your training goal or getting out and exercising. Even though we aren’t able to run in large groups or attend face-to-face group exercise classes, here’s a list of things we CAN do to stay active and healthy during these difficult times:
- Walk or run outside either alone or a safe distance away from a running partner
- Walk or run at home on a treadmill
- Cross-train on a bike, elliptical, or other cardio machines
- Stay in touch with your exercise community. Whether you usually attend a running group or an exercise class, stay in contact with those people and hold one another accountable and offer encouragement
- Use apps such as ZOOM to virtually exercise and check in with friends
