Robert Booker states “I don’t think that Peter Ott’s was the sponsor in 1979”
Kyle Rankin just shared this picture with Robert Booker. Kyle won the 14 and under age group at the 1979 Camden 10K. He was one of 3 people who finished the R.P.M. (Running Programs of Maine) running camp with a win in this race. The other two were the overall winners, Amby Burfoot and Joan Benoit Samuelson. Who else won one? My brother, Bruce designed this running bag and it was constructed by Port Canvas out of Kennebunkport.

I called Bob Haskell to see if he planned to go to the race and said he wasn’t planning on it. I said, “Well, don’t be surprised if Joan Benoit runs the fastest 10K ever. I’ll call you if she does.” Notice who showed up to cover the event.
