We ask for a moment of quiet reflection at the recent passing of Dan Dearing. Coach Dearing led cross country and track teams in Brunswick for many years, inspiring countless athletes. In his coaching, Dan brought sustained personal commitment and drew upon his deep well of experience as a lifelong exceptional endurance athlete. Dan also brought his one-of-a-kind wisdom and humor. Dan Dearing played an integral role in the fundraising and advocacy that resulted in the fine venue we compete on today. In life, Dan served as an exemplar in his commitment to young people and to his community. We miss Dan profoundly, even as we know his impacts carry forward.
