Steven Dubois states So this morning I traveled over a mile to go to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors 5K in Lisbon Falls at the Lisbon United Methodist Church. I won this race last year so I had an aggressive time goal even though it was humid from the fog this morning. It was good to see a few more runners this year. Hope to see even more next year as this race course is fantastic. We’ve got to support our local races. It was slightly long last year, but this year they made 2 small changes and the course measured on my GPS within the margin of error for a 5K. Fantastic slightly downhill finish. They did a great job this year to raise money for the LACO food pantry. I did not defend last year’s win today as the Lisbon High School cross country team had some fast runners show up at the race, but I did shatter my goal. I finished 5th out of 30 runners with a time of 21:11. That’s 45 seconds faster than last year. I should have some pics later as David Colby Young from Maine Running Photos was there. Next race in 2 weeks.
