BAR HARBOR — Almost 700 people, coming from places as far away as Colorado and Louisiana, participated in the Mount Desert Island YMCA’s 4th Annual Acadia Half Marathon and 10K this weekend.
Matt Homich of Ellsworth came in first in the half-marathon with a time of 1:17:25, and Brendan O’Keefe of Seal Cove placed first in the 10K with a time of 36:23.
In the women’s division, the first finisher in the Half Marathon was Holly Curtis of New York with a time of 1:39:30. Kate Fulham of Framingham, Mass., was the first woman finisher in the 10K with a time of 41:39.
“The MDI YMCA 4th Annual Acadia Half Marathon & 10K was a wonderful experience for the participants and volunteers,” said Lindsey Doyle, director of healthy living at the MDI YMCA.
“We had a record number of participants in the half, and we doubled our participation in the 10K. It was a very successful fundraiser for the Y.”
