Season Greetings. (Non-sports posting)
In the spirit of both Christmas and Hanukkah. we take a break from photos & videos of sweaty people, to give a little attention to people that are just down on their luck. The Poor are not likely doing road races or just running for their health. They are just trying to stay alive. I can not say I know any poor people but I know that the Maine Track Club with the help of the Maine Running Company put on a race last Sunday 23 Nov 2008 to help raise money to help support a soup kitchen. The Danville Jct Grange #65 of Danville-Auburn, Maine and the Maine Red Hatters (two different groups) are both working on collecting toys for kids for Christmas. I do not have any Grange video relating to the the giving of gifts but I do have video of the Maine Red Hatters who have also selected the Salvation Army as their group to give to this year.

These last two videos are audio only. Stella May Porter Young, my grandmother, told these type of stories to her brothers & sisters as a girl and to her children & grandchildren later in life. Two of my father’s favorite stories were recorded to a record many years ago. My grandmother was born in Patten, Maine in 1893 and has been gone for a number of years. We hope you will enjoy her storytelling and that the stories will move you to do the right thing not just at Christmas and/or Hanukkah season but at all the time in the year. The web site is total supported by David Colby Young of the Danville Jct Grange and also a member of the Maine Track Club, This site is offered at no charge to readers but the owner may from time to time talk about a project. We will not keep score on this. We will just pray that you will feel moved to do the right thing. We can not tell you what that right thing is.
