Winter 2012-29
We are guessing no volunteers willing to take photos & video. This is the only report we have been given:

Small but enthusiastic aR crowd today (15 Jan 2012) at our Hebron Hills Snowshoe Classic (Hebron, ME) hosted by our own Austin Stonebarker. Judson Cake, Timmy Lindsey, Mike Sallade, and Chris J. Dunn were treated to a beautifully scenic and challenging course. For a $20 charitable donation we got indoor registration, a race, hot shower, handcrafted prizes, indoor awards with free pizza, coffee, and pumpkin chip cookies. By the way…that almost NEVER happens at ANY race let alone a snowshoe race! Kudos Austin and your volunteers (including aR’s Sarah Sallade) for a job very, very well done.

Course Description: This is the first ever snowshoe race to be held at the Academy. The school has a simple loop of very smooth but hilly cross country trail (running and nordic skiing) that has been improved this fall to include narrow rolling single track within the loop through beautiful mixed hardwood forest. Expect to pick up the pace on the wide open nordic trail between navigating twisting single-track that will test your agility and stamina as you move up and down hills. You will find a couple short “steepies” on the course that will warm you up fast! The course will be approximitely 5.5K. The course should be challenging but fun and very beautiful at the same time!
