    1. Are you SURE no one else finished? They do say there’re bears in the area, but…

    2. Before I write about this in my column I want to make sure the results on cool running are correct. Only two of you showed up?

    3. Dear Andy,

We believed what we read on the Net and so David & I both went to South Bridgton, Maine to run what we believed to be the 4th Annual Steeple Run. I took photos at the 2nd Annual Steeple Run and the other runner (david S.) had raced it two times before. I had my video camcorder with me and since we both were there to race, we were not going to let the small detail that the race committee was not there stop us. We quickly put together a group of people to be volunteers who were standing by and went on with the race. The race was still marked and with four people watching we went on with the race.
I have emailed the race director to tell him that we had the race without him and sent him the results. I am guessing he will want our entry fee at some point. I do not know if this counts as a race but at the time it was a race between two people who knew well what they were getting into.
