a 5K RUN-WALK lead sponsored by TAMC. “As we started out on the 5k SNO-RUN WALK, the weather was starting to really go downhill at the Griffeth Ford Dealership,” says Chamberlain.
“It snowed and blew, but the dedicated runners and walkers battled the conditions to help create awareness about sexual assault.”
The RUN-WALK ended at the TAMC Outpatient Office on Bennett Drive where medals were awarded by Chris Smith and Andy Santerre.

The lower parking lot at Cary Medical Center Campus is the place to be on Sunday, October 14th. Run in the the Spike It Up 5K Cross Country race to benefit the Cary Medical Center Campus. Registration starts at 12 Noon, and the race begins at 1 p.m. It costs $15.00 per person, or $20.00 for a family and Tshirts are provided for the first 100 registrants. The age divisions are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,and 60 and older. First Place prizes will be given to male and female in each division, and overall male and female winners.

On Saturday evening at 8:00pm, Caribou High School, under the directions of race director and head Cross Country coach Roy Alden, put on the 6th annual “Under the Lights Community/Alumni X-Country Race”
It is a handicapped race, 2.75 miles long. The hadicapps are as follows; First 50 years and older, and the Middle School athletes, One minute later 40-49 year olds begin, One minute later 30-39 year olds begin, one minute later 20-29 year olds begin, finally one minute later the elite and High School runners begin. The elite runners are those males that can run a 5k in less than 18:00 min and for females it is any one that can run under 21:00 min.
This year the race was won by 12 year old Dillon Beckum for the males and Kim Wright for the females.
This race also features team scores. The following are the team score results;
1st Male- Has Beens and Wannabees; Dillon Beckum, Leo Kashian, Thomas Beckum, Carl Soderberg, and Gabe Massey
2nd Male- MWSC; Men Fred Bailey, Joey Bard, Will Sweetzer, Adam Fissette, and Derek Rowe with
3rd Male- Gumby; Spencer McElwain, Tim Freme, Finn Bondeson, Chris Rines
1st Female- Victorious Secret; Rene Gorneault, Susan Plissey, Marie Strouse
